Hi All... I've been extremely busy these days as I'm sure are most of you. I've had hardly any time to even visit my site, let alone post a message.
Even now I have to hurry; so instead of telling you about my day I'll post one of my poems and promise to write more after Thanksgiving.
WHAT IF
original poem by Cherita L. Axel
copyright 2005
What if the sun should cease to rise?
What if no rain fell from the sky?
What if flowers no longer bloomed?
What if instruments played no tune?
What if laughter were to end?
What if we had no foe or friend?
What if there were no tears to shed,
And fingers pricked no longer bled?
What if these "ifs" should all come true?
Tell me, "What would you do?"
You can not laugh you can not cry,
You can not bleed you can not die.
Existing where no flowers grew,
No sunlit days or skies of blue.
No children playing in the rain,
Not even monetary gain.
No birds singing in the trees,
No brilliance of the autumn leaves.
Again I ask, What would you do,
If these "ifs" should all come true?
As a footnote to all of those keeping count, I have fallen way behind on my 50,000 word novel for National Novel Writing Month. I have just over 16,000 words, but I haven't given up.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
