Today is day 5 of my returning to work outside of my home. It was quite a challenging week.
I drove the nearly 30 miles each day, that's 15 miles each way, Monday and Tuesday; and then the snow came. As a new driver, it was quite the adventure driving home in the wet, slippery snow, with visibility next to nil. So by Wednesday, thanks to my supervisor at work, I was taking 2 trains to and from work.
My commute starts pretty early before 7:00 am... it's the only way I can be at my desk by 8:30 am. This has been an exhaustive week, but worth it. It's been a while since I could find the time to write a post, read a book, or even to think, without it transitioning into thoughts of work. But here I am, on the train, listening to music and writing a post.
This is just a temp assignment, but I'm glad I said "yes"; besides having the chance to think, I also like the company. I share a lot of fundamental beliefs with their work. It's a good first step.
