It's been four weeks since I started working from home, and so far I have no regrets.
In my first week I focused on designing a postcard for a small mailing while also updating a couple of client's web sites; the second week I was sick, but I managed to design and have printed a brochure. I'm also testing out CRM (Customer Relations Management) software, that's a job in itself. Week three I took a day off on Wednesday; Vid, Aliana, and I drove into the city to the Museum of Science and Industry to view the Body Worlds 2 exhibit. We saw the Body Worlds Exhibit when Aliana was three, but a five-year-old Aliana is a lot more aware and has a lot more questions then a three-year-old Aliana. I wasn't feeling quite myself on that day, which sucked because I so enjoyed the exhibit the last time. This time I was tired and light-headed and at times felt nauseous and needed to sit more times than usual. It's weird because the content wasn't nauseating, quite the contrary, I found it beautiful... but physically and mentally, I wasn't fully present. I did however enjoy spending the day with Vid and Aliana, just the three Axels.
This week I met with a potential new client who needs a brochure and a website, I am very hopeful. I've also been a bit moody this week, and my lower back has been aching. In spite of that, I did spend a little time outside with Aliana yesterday, an outing I think we both enjoyed. Since I began working from home Aliana and I have been joined at the hip. Vid has taken her out a few times on adventures to the library, playground, and mall... spending hours with her so that I could have some dedicated time to fully focus. He also will spend huge chunks of time reading with her and doing homeschooling.
Last Friday we were actually able to secure a sitter and go out for a few hours, just the two of us. We went to Steak n' Shake, had a meal and talked the whole time, that was nice. Next time, maybe we'll catch a movie or something.
Well, I'm sure there is a lot more to post here, but I want to get back to work. I will try to write more this week. See you all later!
