This week, I decided to try something new. Each day, when I wake up, I smile and cuddle with my dog for a bit. I then spend the next 10 - 20 minutes focusing only on things that bring me joy. After which, I get up and start my day. Once I am up and logged in my computer for work, saying my morning hellos, I start off with something positive and hopeful. Then, throughout the day, when we're giving intermittent check-ins, when asked how I'm doing, again, I answer with a smile focusing on the good. I decided to do this all week to see if it had any effect on my mood throughout the day, or my performance at work. It did. I found that my mood throughout the day was just better, and that my overall work performance was better. I am hopeful this week, and am grateful for insight.
