Reboot and Rebuilding

Reboot and Rebuilding

As I sit down to write today, I'm reflecting on the unexpected twists life can throw our way. Recently, I experienced a digital mishap when I lost all my blog posts from 2025 after neglecting to download my backup before switching hosts. The gut-wrenching realization that countless thoughts and creative expressions had vanished in an instant hit hard. Yet, as I rebuild my blog—restoring everything prior to 2025—I find myself at a unique crossroads: a pivotal opportunity to reboot and reimagine what this year could bring.

This reboot is not merely about resurrecting lost content; it's about reigniting my passion for writing and sharing my journey. The loss was a wake-up call, reminding me of the importance of cherishing and safeguarding our work while also opening doors to new possibilities. With a blank slate for 2025, I can curate content that genuinely reflects my current self, my evolving thoughts, and the goals for my business, Digital Stitch Designs.

As I embark on this new chapter, I'm also contemplating the growth of my business. Digital Stitch Designs, along with my partnerships with Edge of Glass and Foxfire Lighting and Art Glass, is a labor of love—an outlet for my passion for design and craftsmanship. However, like many small businesses, it faces challenges. I’m exploring marketing strategies and ways to leverage social media, aiming to forge deeper connections with my audience by sharing my journey.

Recognizing the need to make my dollar stretch further in our ever-changing economic landscape, I've begun reevaluating my spending habits. I'm actively seeking ways to cut costs without compromising quality—choosing to be more intentional about my purchases.

While navigating this reboot, I am also reflecting on my living space's impact on my mindset and creativity. Should I invest in a more inspiring workspace? I'm weighing the balance between comfort and functionality to ensure my surroundings foster creativity and productivity. My brother has suggested we consider moving near him in Japan, a thought that excites me. If it were just me, I’d sell the house and hop on the next plane. Living in Asia has been a dream since my early 20s when my plan to move to Hong Kong fell through. Now, with a stable remote job and digital ventures, this dream feels more feasible than ever—but I have family to consider.

Ultimately, this reboot for 2025 embodies resilience and reinvention. It’s a chance to embrace change, learn from the past, and chart a course toward a brighter future. As I rebuild my blog, revitalize my business, and reassess my lifestyle, I feel a sense of optimism and excitement. This experience is a powerful reminder that even in loss, there is tremendous potential for growth. Here’s to 2025—may it be a year of new beginnings, creative breakthroughs, and meaningful connections.
